Across Sicily, then the ferry to mainland Italy
Noto, Syracuse, Augusta and Catania appear in Jaydip’s early walking videos before the crossing to mainland Italy.

The early Sicily recordings follow a coastal sequence: Noto, Syracuse, Augusta and Catania. Jaydip reports walking 36 km toward Syracuse on Day 3, 33 km toward Augusta on Day 4 and 41 km toward Catania on Day 5.
The coast brought blue beaches, but also trucks and highways. On Day 4, the route passed through industrial areas and finding a way through became difficult. Jaydip titled that recording ‘I Followed Google Maps Into Nowhere’.
Litter collection continued alongside the walking. In his Day 6 recording, Jaydip describes finding rubbish on the road despite empty bins nearby.
The Malta Independent reported on 9 March that he had reached mainland Italy after crossing Sicily in 17 days. The ferry from Sicily was the second required sea crossing after leaving Malta. Ahead lay the mainland section, including Rome and the road north.
